From Meyrin, this Geneva roastery bets on organic, fair trade and a roast never older than fifteen days — no pods, ever.

A roastery that roasts every day: that’s a promise that stands out in an industry where coffee can sit in a bag for months before it ever reaches a cup. Chronic. has made this its signature from Geneva, where the brand has existed since 2017. No pods, no shortcuts: here, the focus is on organic, fair trade, and a freshness measured in days rather than months.

A Geneva story

Chronic. was founded in Geneva in 2017. The brand settled in the region and built its own roasting operation, well away from the industrial circuits of pod coffee. From the outset, it chose a demanding path: specialty coffee, roasted on site, with clear traceability all the way to organic and fair trade standards. That line hasn’t shifted since the beginning.

Roasted beans, no detours

Chronic.’s range is built on a simple principle: specialty coffees, organic and fair trade, with no pods involved. The brand states that its entire offering is certified organic and Fairtrade, a choice that shapes everything else: lot selection, roasting, packaging. It’s a clear positioning, aimed at those looking for coffee whose origin and production conditions are documented, with no compromise on how it’s consumed.

A roast built for freshness

Chronic.’s craft happens in Meyrin, on Rue de la Bergère, where the brand’s roastery is based. There, it states that it practises slow, artisanal roasting, in small batches rather than large industrial runs. The brand goes further still: it states that it roasts every day and delivers coffee that is never more than fifteen days past roasting. In practice, this means coffee that reaches the consumer with recently roasted beans — a point that matters especially to those attentive to aroma and freshness.

This approach comes with a set of certifications the brand highlights: B Corp, EcoEntreprise Excellence and 1% for the Planet. These labels, claimed by Chronic., help structure its environmental and social commitments beyond the finished product alone.

A model with a commitment

Chronic. doesn’t stop at putting organic and fair trade on the label. The brand states that it donates one per cent of its turnover to two organisations, WWF Switzerland and Terre des Hommes Switzerland. It’s a quantified, recurring commitment, in line with the 1% for the Planet label it also claims. The B Corp certification, likewise claimed, further underlines an intention to measure and structure the company’s social and environmental impact, beyond commercial messaging alone.

From Geneva, for Switzerland

Chronic. is a Swiss brand, born and based in Geneva. Its roasting takes place in Meyrin, at Rue de la Bergère 3C, and the brand runs a shop in town, at Rue Argand 2. For a reader in French-speaking Switzerland, this is a local roastery with roots it has claimed since its founding in 2017.

Why we like it

We like the idea of coffee that never waits around: roasted every day, delivered no more than fifteen days after roasting — a rare promise of freshness in this trade. We also note the simple, concrete gesture of donating one per cent of turnover to WWF Switzerland and Terre des Hommes Switzerland, which gives real substance to the organic and fair trade label.

Exactly the kind of brand we’d love to come across on O!deal one day.
