Our links with O!deal
O!mag is published by ODL Group Sàrl, the company that runs the odeal.ch sales platform. The magazine exists to make products and brands known, including those the shop sells or might sell. We would rather say so here than leave you to guess.
What this changes in what you read:
- O!drops is about O!deal’s sales. These are sales pages, and they present themselves as such.
- O!radar presents brands we have spotted, often before any commercial relationship. An article does not mean the brand sells or will sell on O!deal, and we never imply it.
- O!lab publishes reviews. Their verdict does not depend on what the shop sells.
What a supplier can and cannot obtain
A brand or a supplier can:
- introduce a brand or a product to us, through the contact form;
- provide a unit for a review;
- read a review before it is published, for five working days, to report an inaccurate fact;
- ask for an error to be corrected, or for an image that belongs to them to be removed.
A brand or a supplier cannot:
- pay to appear in the magazine: no brand pays for these pages;
- buy an article, a placement or a verdict;
- approve a review, rewrite it or have a well-founded weakness removed: they read it, they do not decide;
- receive a tester’s postal address or e-mail address.
We ask every tester for a reasoned opinion, with at least one weakness. A well-founded criticism is published. When a review tears a product apart with no facts to back it up, the editorial team sends it back to its author to be substantiated, as it would praise with no evidence. It is the judge of that, never the brand.
The photos in O!radar articles come from the manufacturers. Each one is credited under the image.
Where the units we review come from
Every review states where the unit came from, under its title. A unit is loaned or given, never bought:
- Provided by the brand via O!deal. This is the rule for cO!lab testers: the brand provides the product through O!deal, and the tester keeps it. It is their only consideration: they are not paid. The review says so at the top: “Product provided by the brand via O!deal for this review”.
- Loaned by the supplier, to the editorial team, for the length of the review.
A review is never paid for: the tester receives nothing but the product, and no brand pays for a review.
Our tools
The editorial team may rely on writing and translation aids, some of which use artificial intelligence. Every text is published under the responsibility of the editorial team. An O!lab review remains the opinion of the person who used the product.
Corrections and right of reply
Have you spotted an error? Write to us through the contact form, stating the page. We check, we correct, and the article then shows its update date.
A brand that disputes a fact can write to us the same way. If it is right, we correct. If the disagreement is about a reasoned opinion, the opinion stays.
