Aeroband: How a Two-Year PocketGuitar Prototype Became an Instrument Range
Aeroband turns everyday gestures into music, from the two-year build of its first PocketGuitar to today's electronic guitars, drums and headphones designed for instant play.

Aeroband makes electronic instruments that ask nothing of you but a gesture. No years of scales, no waiting to sound like something recognisable. Its founder, Frank, describes his own path as a musician as the reason the company exists at all. The first product, the PocketGuitar, took two years to develop before it reached anyone outside the company. That patience, more than any single feature, is the clearest thing the brand says about itself.
The Story Behind the Name
Frank built Aeroband out of a personal frustration: learning to play an instrument the traditional way is slow, and not everyone gets there. The PocketGuitar was his answer, and its two-year development suggests a founder unwilling to rush a first product out of the door. It set the tone for what came after — instruments that compress the learning curve without pretending to replace it.
What Aeroband Makes
The range has grown around a simple family of ideas. The PocketDrum lets you play drum sounds through motion rather than a full kit. The AeroBand Guitar applies the same logic to guitar playing, translating movement and simple technique into recognisable music. More recently, the AeroBand Over-Ear Headphones joined the line, built specifically to work alongside the PocketDrum series rather than as a standalone accessory. Together, the products describe a catalogue aimed less at trained musicians and more at anyone curious to make a sound they didn’t think they could make.
What Aeroband Stands For
Aeroband is direct about its ambitions. The brand says it wants to revolutionise the musical landscape through digital innovation, and it frames its instruments as a way to democratise music creation — putting intelligent, intuitive tools in the hands of people who might otherwise never pick up an instrument. These are the company’s own words, not an independent verdict, but they line up with a catalogue built around ease of entry rather than technical depth for its own sake.
Right Now
Aeroband has kept moving. In September 2026, a new version of the AeroBand Guitar went live. Earlier that year, in January 2026, the brand launched the AeroBand Over-Ear Headphones, designed to pair with the PocketDrum series rather than exist on their own. The O!deal team met Aeroband at IFA Berlin 2026.
Why we like it
We like that Aeroband took two years to get its first instrument right before putting it in anyone's hands. There's something honest about a founder building a company around his own struggle to learn an instrument, then trying to solve it for everyone else.
Exactly the kind of brand we’d love to come across on O!deal one day.
