Clicks: the brand that gives your smartphone a real keyboard back
Clicks Technology, based in London, makes physical keyboards with round keys for iPhone and Android, and has just unveiled a companion phone, the Communicator, which also has a keyboard.

Clicks makes keyboards for smartphones, with real keys. A clip-on case under the iPhone, a slider for Android phones, and since January 2026 a whole phone, the Communicator: the brand has taken the side of the key that presses down, at a time when everything goes through glass. Its keyboards deliberately recall the BlackBerrys of the past, with their round keys laid out in tight rows.
An old-style keyboard for today’s phone
The company, Clicks Technology, has its postal address in London and describes itself as a global team. It says it wants to give people who create and build the means to go further, and to design every product to offer precision and comfort, with a feel it considers unmatched.
The project was born, according to AppleInsider, from a co-founder’s wish: the creator of the MrMobile channel, Michael Fisher according to MacRumors, brought together former BlackBerry people to design a physical keyboard for the iPhone. AppleInsider describes it as a love letter to those who miss typing on keys. According to the brand, more than 200,000 keyboards have been sold in more than 100 countries.
Cases, a slider and a phone
The range is organised around several families. For the iPhone, keyboard cases exist for the 14, 15, 16 and 17 generations, and a refurbished model is also available. For Android, the brand offers keyboards for the Google Pixel 9 and for the Motorola Razr 2024 and 2025. Accessories round it off: a strap, a top cover for the Razr.
The Power Keyboard is a slider keyboard that attaches magnetically to the phone and connects over Bluetooth. According to the brand, it works with iPhones and Android phones that support wireless charging, and also pairs with tablets, smart TVs and augmented-reality headsets. It charges the phone wirelessly, and pairs with up to nine devices.
The Communicator is an Android 16 phone designed to accompany an iPhone or another smartphone, according to MacRumors. It also has a physical keyboard, a side key for dictating a message and messaging apps on the home screen.
A direct link with the phone
The cases connect directly to the iPhone’s USB-C port, or Lightning for the older ones, with no Bluetooth and no battery: the brand says the keyboard draws a little power from the phone. They work as soon as they are inserted, and the optional Clicks app is used to adjust the backlight and shortcuts, and to update the firmware.
According to the brand, its keyboards comply with Apple’s “Made for iPhone” guidelines. The iPhone 17 model is a clip-on case, slimmer and lighter than the iPhone 16 one, and its insertion system is designed for frequent removal: the brand states that it withstands more than 2,000 installations.
What the brand stands for
Clicks stands for mastery of its technology and the freedom to create with it without limits. It says it wants to build a movement and a community, as well as a product line for those who create. For the Communicator, its marketing director, Jeff Gadway, compares it to an e-reader next to a tablet: a complementary device, devoted to communication rather than to consuming content, as cited by MacRumors.
Right now
On 2 January 2026, Clicks unveiled the Communicator, which was due to be shown at CES in Las Vegas the following week, according to MacRumors. The Power Keyboard was singled out, according to Android Headlines, among the “Best of CES 2026”. The brand says that Power Keyboard shipments are under way.
For readers in Switzerland
The brand’s shop lists Switzerland in its country selector, with prices shown in euros, and its interface is in English. For the Communicator, the configurator offers QWERTY, AZERTY and QWERTZ keyboards; for the iPhone 15 Pro, the brand indicates QWERTZ and AZERTY versions.
Why we like it
We like the consistency of the idea: a real keyboard, keys that press down, and a range that stretches from iPhone to Android without changing its principle. We also like that the brand openly nods to the keyboard phones of the past, with a carefully drawn design and bold colours.
Exactly the kind of brand we’d love to come across on O!deal one day.
