Beeline: the London GPS born from a bike ride gone astray
Born in London in 2015 after a bike ride on which two friends got lost, Beeline makes compact GPS devices for motorcycles and bicycles, originally funded on Kickstarter.

In 2015, two London friends get lost on a bike ride. From that annoyance, Beeline drew a question: what if a GPS were designed for people who ride on two wheels, not for cars? Today the brand makes small round dials that show only the next manoeuvre, fixed to a handlebar, and lets the phone do the calculating. It says it has guided riders and cyclists in more than 100 countries.
The story
Beeline says it all began in 2015, when its founders, Tom and Mark, two long-standing friends, got lost on a bike ride in London. They went on to sketch out a navigation system designed for two-wheelers, built on clarity, simplicity and control.
The Beeline Velo was presented on Kickstarter in 2016; according to the brand, the target was reached in under a week. The first devices were delivered worldwide in 2017. The Beeline Moto, for motorcyclists, followed in 2019, the same year as the Velo 2, which added turn-by-turn navigation and performance statistics. Next came the Moto II, with a larger colour screen and a sturdier case, according to the brand.
The range
The range is split between bicycle and motorcycle. On the bicycle side, the Velo 2; on the motorcycle side, the Moto II, which the brand offers with two bezel styles, one rather rugged, the other retro, to match the motorcycle. The Moto II Classic Edition, with its polished stainless steel bezel, is the newest version in the brand’s catalogue, alongside an Anniversary Edition.
All these devices work in the same way: they link over Bluetooth to the phone, which provides the GPS and the route calculation, and they show pared-back directions on a small round screen, with buttons designed for gloves. A set of mounts lets you fix them to the handlebar, the mirror or the fork stem, and accessories round out the offer, such as a carrying case or a powered mount for charging while riding.
The Beeline app, on iOS and Android, ties it all together: planning, navigation, a log of rides, route sharing and GPX files.
The craftsmanship
In its report on the unveiling of the Moto II Classic Edition, Motorcycles.News describes a polished stainless steel bezel with a chrome finish, an anodised aluminium body and a weather-resistant ASA polymer back. The brand also states that the device has IP67 protection and is shock resistant.
Using the phone as the brain has consequences that the press picks up on: in its review of the Moto II, Bike Social by Bennetts appreciates the absence of wiring and maps that are always up to date, since they come from the phone, but also notes that the device depends entirely on it.
What the brand stands for
Beeline states that it wants to make life easier for motorcyclists and cyclists with navigation tools that are intuitive, beautiful and built to last, so that they stay focused on the road rather than on the technology. It also says it loves riding itself, and says it works to fix quickly any equipment that does not perform as it should. Finally, it seeks to grow a community of ambassadors, which it describes as creators and enthusiasts who encourage people to ride further.
Right now
Motorcycles.News reports that Beeline held its first stand of its own at EICMA in Milan in November 2025, alongside its Italian partner Cellularline, and unveiled the Moto II Classic Edition there. According to the same article, co-founder Tom Putnam presented this version there as “modern performance in a design that suits timeless machines”. The brand’s catalogue took in the Classic Edition and the Anniversary Edition in March 2026.
For readers in Switzerland
Switzerland is among the countries served by Beeline’s online shop, which is available in English and German. It is also among the countries where the brand’s own route calculation works, according to Beeline’s help centre, which dates that list to March 2026.
Why we like it
We like the simplicity of the proposition: a dial that shows only the next manoeuvre, and the route calculation left to the app. We also like that the brand takes care over the finish, right down to a polished steel bezel designed for the chrome on a motorcycle.
Exactly the kind of brand we’d love to come across on O!deal one day.
