French Bloom: the Limoux house that treats alcohol-free as wine
Founded in 2019, French Bloom makes 0.0% sparkling wines from organic Limoux wines, and has acquired a 25-hectare estate in the Aude.

At French Bloom, wine comes before the figure: the house says it makes “wine first, 0.0% second”. Each cuvée is born from organic Limoux wines, in the Aude, which the brand designs from the vineyard onwards for their final alcohol-free expression. Limoux is sparkling-wine country: according to the brand, monks at the abbey of Saint-Hilaire were already making wines with bubbles there in 1531. French Bloom has made the region its home base, to the point of buying its own estate there.
The story
The brand dates its beginnings to 2019, in Paris. Two long-standing friends, Constance Jablonski and Maggie Frerejean-Taittinger, meet up there after years spent on opposite sides of the Atlantic. Constance Jablonski is a model; Maggie Frerejean-Taittinger is then in charge of international development at the Michelin Guide and is expecting twins. Around the table, they keep coming back to the same observation: for anyone who chooses not to drink alcohol, nothing offers the complexity and ritual of a sparkling wine.
Rodolphe Frerejean-Taittinger, Maggie’s husband and co-founder of the Champagne house Frerejean Frères, in Avize, brings the technical know-how. He spent several years, with the team, developing the wines and a dealcoholisation process. He is now chief executive of French Bloom and leads its technical vision.
The range
The house offers four cuvées in 75 cl, as well as a magnum. Le Blanc, fruity and fresh, is presented as the cuvée for every occasion; Le Rosé, floral and round, as the award-winning cuvée; L’Extra Brut, dry and mineral, as the gastronomic cuvée, made from 100% Chardonnay; La Cuvée Vintage 2023, a vintage blanc de blancs, is a numbered edition. Gift sets complete the range.
The know-how
The grapes are organic Chardonnay and Pinot noir, picked early to keep their natural acidity. The wines ferment and then age in French oak and stainless steel, with, according to the brand, no added sulphites. The alcohol is then removed in three stages of low-temperature vacuum distillation, from about 14% to 3%, then 0.5%, then 0.0%, before a final blend that fixes the balance of each cuvée. The brand calls this its Wine Revelation Process.
Behind the cuvées, Rodolphe Frerejean-Taittinger and Bertrand Degat, cellar master since 2025 and a specialist in organic and biodynamic viticulture in the south of France, supervise every stage in Limoux.
What the brand stands for
French Bloom calls itself a “French house of 0.0%”, founded by women, and committed to naturalness: no added sulphites or preservatives, according to the brand. On its estate, it says it cultivates living soils, covers the ground naturally, favours mechanical work over chemical inputs and encourages polyculture.
Its mission, as it puts it: to give alcohol-free wine the same place at the table as fine wine. It presents itself as the world’s first house entirely devoted to alcohol-free wines.
Right now
At the end of 2024, Moët Hennessy took a stake in French Bloom as a minority shareholder, its first investment in the alcohol-free category; the brand remains independent. On 4 September 2025, Formula 1 named it the competition’s first official alcohol-free sparkling wine partner: its cuvées are served in the Paddock Clubs run by Formula 1 and in the F1 garage.
At the start of December 2025, the press reported the acquisition of a 25-hectare estate in Limoux, with full operation announced for September 2026. At the heart of this Domaine French Bloom lies Le Clos, a Chardonnay plot more than sixty years old, whose grapes go into La Cuvée Vintage 2023.
For readers in Switzerland
The brand runs an online shop that has a version for Switzerland, in French, with prices in Swiss francs, and says it delivers to Switzerland.
Why we like it
We like the consistency of the project: designing each base wine, from the vineyard onwards, for its final 0.0% expression, rather than imitating after the fact. And the care in the staging, from the silver bottle to cuvées that stand apart by their taste more than by their promise.
Exactly the kind of brand we’d love to come across on O!deal one day.
